So I'm proud to announce that last night (8.6.06) at sunset in Destin, Florida....my little [Godsister Amanda] got engaged!!!! Amanda is the closest thing that I have to a little sister, I've known her since she was born, our moms are each others' God-mothers. She and I used to tell everyone we were sisters ,a fact that was easily disputed given that she outgrew me by the time she was 6. I was also her counselor at [Camp Merri-Mac] when I was Princess (circa 1998). She was even in my Princess party as the Lady of the Lake ("Like, totally!" haha). That was probably the hardest time for me, since she was starting to become a young adult and I suddenly felt the over-protectiveness of an older sister. I just wanted her to stay young and innocent forever. But as with all things, she grew into adulthood and I found myself totally confused as to where those damn years went. Our relationship has really grown into the a new and wonderful stage just recently, through the past year or so. We now have the kind of relationship where no matter what, we know that we will always be there for each other. I love her with all of my heart, and to see her happily engaged and in love could not make me happier. I'm literally tearing up at the thought. Drr! Anyways, congratulations times 10 million to my wonderful Amanda Aberson. You and Stew are going to have a wonderful life together. My mom and dad are thrilled for you too. I love you! Mood: jubilant

HOLY no update in ages batman! Last week was INSANITY! I worked Monday, I've been creating Ann's website for her company PR Source. Mostly I've been working on her page that is aimed at helping people find resources to help Atlanta's homeless pets. Woohoo! School on Tuesday, then home to work on my Dad's book cover and studying. Wednesday, more work with Ann, then studying for my geology exam again. Thursday was exam day (meh) and then off to Rockdale to see Dr. Paulsen, back to Atlanta, then hanging out w/ Christian. Friday morning, off to the GA World Congress Center to work for a few days helping out my mom's company (Randstad) put on the largest party I've ever seen! The party was for Randstad's 45th birthday. It was a world-wide celebration with parties for all Randstad employees in 10 countries. In America, we flew in all the employees from the US and Canada. The venue and performers were all kept secret from the 2,000 employees that came into Atlanta. The Congress Center was DECKED out the the 9's. Friday, I helped set up stuff, get flights sorted out, make badges, drive people around in my mom's car, set up hotel lobbies, etc etc. I worked from 11:00AM to 7:00PM, no breaks. But it looked AMAZING and it was very gratifying. [click for the awesome pics] Friday night, I went out to Kennesaw to see Stranger by Day at their last performance. I saw Nate there (whoa!) and got to hang out with the K-Town folks, Evan, Ashley, Chad, Ashley, Dani, Kaytee, Heidi, Pat, York, Oscar, and of course Christian. I met some cool kids, and we all had fun laughing at the Randstad glowstick things (they're NOT sex toys!). NANCY: I'm sorry I didnt make it out to your party, I had told the SBD kids I would come to their thing before I knew about your thing. I wanted to try and make it out afterwards, but I ended up having to work early the next morning. :o( I'm so sorry love.Saturday morning bright and early I had to come back down to the Congress Center to do more setting up, then work as a Hospitality person during the party. I worked from 10:30AM to 12:00AM that night. It was SOOOOOO awesome, my mom did an amazing job, as did Kenna and all the others who helped. There was a live satellite feed from all the other countries and so for a little bit, all the Randstad employees around the world were celebrating all together. Elles Springs performed the "Good to know you" song (which is on their commercials if you've heard them on the radio). We also had DJ Swivel, the Funk Brothers, and Gloria Gaynor ("I will survive"). The whole place was a club theme, very swanky. There were seating areas with little lounges, tables all decked out, dinner, an amazing dance floor, a light up wall with stars, the list goes on and on. The only bad part of the evening was the rampant theft among employees, they all stole the little light up cubes on the tables, then people started trying to take the fucking decorations that were plugged into the walls! Some lady tried to take the little ottomans that light up different colors (like the ones at Ikea), then there was an asshole guy who started to take the glass lamps that sat on tables, then he broke them. My mom chased him down in her gown and everything. She got him and gave him a good talking to. What an asshole. Craziness. Anyways, so my feet and legs are basically broken. Sunday I spent all day limping around. Now I'm about to go to work. This weekend is romantic retreat with Christian and Sonny & Maria. We're staying at the Fireside Chalets in the Margaritaville lodge. Our own cabin, with whirpools and an outdoor hot tub. Lovely. I can't wait. ♥ ♥OH and last night at 1:30AM, my phone fell off my porch down 3 stories into the sticker bushes. I went down there and was trying to find it with my flashlight for an hour. I had a broom and I was getting literally EATED ALIVE by spiders and bugs. I was freaking out. Finally Christian came to my rescue and called the phone until I could find it. I jumped into the sticker bushes and found the phone on the neighbors' porch!! I'm so glad I didnt get busted or shot! Now I'm all scratched up and bitten, but I HAVE MY PHONE!! WOOHOO! <3 Thank you so much to Christian, my hero! xox Mood: busy
